Terms of Use and Insurance Coverage

1. Reservation and Payment

Reservation Confirmation

Upon completion of your reservation, a confirmation email will be sent. This email includes your reservation number, vehicle information, rental period, and fees. It is recommended to bring this confirmation email on the day of rental.

Payment Options

Cash and various credit cards can be used for payment on the day of rental.

2. Rental Period

Early Pickup

If you wish to pick up the vehicle earlier than scheduled, you must contact the rental company in advance. Additional fees may apply for early pickup.

Late Return Fees

Fees for late returns may be charged on an hourly basis or may incur an additional day's charge. This is strictly enforced, especially if there are other customers' reservations.

3. Driver Requirements

Multiple Drivers

If there are multiple drivers, all driver's licenses must be registered in advance. Additional driver registration must be done on the day of rental by presenting the driver's licenses at the rental desk.

Driver's History

The rental company may check the driver's past driving history (including accidents and violations). If there are significant past violations, rental may be refused.

4. Insurance and Liability

Basic Coverage

Basic insurance covers damages due to accidents and third-party damages, but a deductible is applied. This deductible varies depending on the type of insurance, so it is necessary to confirm.

  • Personal Liability: Unlimited per person
  • Property Damage: Unlimited per accident (deductible of 50,000 yen)
  • Vehicle Insurance: Up to market value per accident (deductible of 150,000 yen)
  • Personal Injury: Up to 30 million yen per person

Please note that the deductible and damages not covered by the insurance company, as well as repair and transportation costs to the domestic area, will be the customer's responsibility.
Repair costs for damaged tires, costs for new tires and labor if a tire replacement is necessary, and costs for lost wheel caps will be the customer's responsibility.
If the wheels are damaged, a non-operation charge will apply.

Please be aware that insurance benefits will not be provided in the following cases:

  • Accidents that fall under the exclusions of the insurance contract without a police accident report (damage assessment will be conducted by the insurance company based on the insurance terms).
  • If the seatbelt was not worn during driving.
  • Failure to report to the police (if an accident report cannot be obtained).
  • Unapproved negotiations for settlement and failure to contact the company from the accident scene.
  • Causing an accident while extending the rental period without permission.
  • Accidents involving drivers other than those listed in the rental agreement.
  • Driving under the influence, driving without a license, vehicle damage caused by theft, exceeding passenger capacity, driving on non-road areas (accidents on roads not maintained), damage or corrosion caused by poor usage, use in tests or competitions, or towing other vehicles, damage to interior equipment in hit-and-run accidents, subrogation accidents, or any other violations of rental terms.

Non-Operation Charge (NOP)

In the event of an accident, theft, breakdown, or damage during the rental period that requires repair or cleaning, regardless of the severity of the issue, you will be responsible for the following amounts as part of the compensation for the loss of business during the repair period. (Please note that this is different from the above compensation system.)

  • Drivable: 30,000 yen
  • Undrivable: 100,000 yen

Supplemental Insurance

Additional insurance cannot be purchased from us. To reduce your deductible to zero, please enroll in travel insurance that covers rental cars. This may help alleviate financial burdens in case of an accident.

5. Fuel Policy

Fuel Level Check

It is recommended to check the fuel gauge when picking up the vehicle and take pictures as needed. This record can help avoid issues upon return.

Fuel Rates

If there is insufficient fuel upon return, you may be charged high fuel prices set by the rental company. Therefore, it is important to refuel at a gas station before returning.

6. Prohibited Uses

Personal Use Only

Rental cars are permitted for personal use only and are prohibited for commercial activities (such as delivery or transportation).

Geographical Restrictions

It is prohibited to take our rental cars to other regions. Violating this may void your insurance.

7. Accidents and Damage

Emergency Contacts

In the event of an accident, you are required to contact the rental company's emergency contact immediately. It is important to report the details of the accident and receive instructions. You may also need to contact the police and stay on the accident scene as required.

Documentation:

It is recommended to take photographs at the accident scene and record the contact information of witnesses. This information will be useful for insurance claims.

8. Termination of Agreement

Immediate Termination Clauses

If you violate the terms of the contract, the company may terminate the agreement immediately, and you may be required to return the vehicle. This includes unauthorized driving and taking the vehicle to prohibited areas.

Dispute Resolution

If disputes arise regarding contract termination, resolution through legal proceedings may be required, and hearings will be conducted in the designated court.

9. Governing Law

Jurisdictional Differences

Different countries and states have different laws, so it is important to check in advance and act according to the laws of your area. Especially in the case of international car rentals, international laws and local regulations must also be considered.
