【About car rental insurance and compensation system】

If you (the renter and any drivers designated at the time of rental) cause damage to a third party or our company due to an accident, you will be liable for compensating for that damage. To supplement this liability for damages, the following compensation is included, with insurance payments made by the insurance company up to the specified limits. However, the deductible amount is your responsibility.

・Personal Injury Coverage (for injury or death to others): Unlimited / Includes Automobile Liability Insurance (Compulsory Automobile Liability Insurance)

・Property Damage Coverage (for damage to other vehicles or property): Unlimited / Per-incident limit, Deductible ¥100,000

・Vehicle Damage Coverage (for damage to the rental car): Market Value / Per-incident limit, Deductible ¥100,000

 
【About the Collision Damage Waive(CDW)】

This is the amount you are responsible for paying from the compensation amounts for Property Damage Coverage and Vehicle Damage Coverage. Paying the deductible waiver fee below will waive your deductible.

CDW Fee: ¥1,650 per day (tax included)

※This is the combined fee for the Deductible Waiver System (¥1,100 per day) and the Vehicle Damage Coverage System (¥550 per day).

*COLDIO Rent a Car rates include the “CDW Fee”.

【Regarding NOC (Non-Operation Charge)】

In the event of an accident, theft, breakdown, contamination, etc., requiring vehicle repair or cleaning, the following amount will be charged as compensation for lost business during that period, regardless of the extent of damage or repair duration.

・If returned to the scheduled branch (if drivable): ¥20,000
・If not returned to the scheduled branch (if undrivable): ¥50,000

※COLDIO Rent a Car rates include membership fees for a system that exempts payment of Non-Operation Charges.

【Cases Where Insurance Does Not Apply】

Please note that all compensation systems will not apply if an accident occurs under the following driving conditions or circumstances:

・Failure to report the accident to the police and our company
・Accidents during unauthorized extensions
・Accidents when a child seat was not installed
・Accidents involving persons other than the contract holder
・Battery trouble costs

・Tire punctures/damage, loss/damage of wheel caps, scratches on aluminum wheels
・Other violations of our rental terms and conditions
・Significant water leakage on seats caused by sitting in swimwear is subject to Non-Operation Charge (NOC)
・Smoke odor absorption, foul odors, or wet/damp conditions in non-smoking vehicles are subject to Non-Operation Charge (NOC). If NOC is purchased, only cleaning fees will be charged

・Transporting pets (Pets cannot be transported even in cages)

・Damage from dropping removable navigation systems, loss of door keys, etc. (Replacement cost for all keys: ¥40,000~)

※For parking violations, promptly complete procedures at the nearest police station and present the violation payment slip upon return.
